Honduras Adan Hernandez El Esfuerzo

from $20.00

We’ve been buying Adan’s coffee now for 8 years at Backporch. We love his coffees and his attention to processing them. Adan’s coffee is a part of the Catracha Project which was put together by Mayra Powell [We had the unique experience to travel to Southern Colombia with Mayra (and husband Lowell) back in 2016 during a Narino coffee competition. It was there that the relationship started].

Mayra is a native Honduran from Santa Elena Honduras and she started importing coffees from Santa Elena in 2010. It was her goal to help her community succeed in coffee sales and she has dedicated her life to what she calls the Catracha Project. In 2017 she moved back to Santa Elena with her husband Lowell so they could focus their efforts entirely on the Catracha Project. From getting farmers micro loans, to community support, to teaching agricultural methods to farmers, the Catracha Project is a holistic community approach to coffee. We are happy to purchase from the project each year and look forward to you trying Adan’s coffee.
