Within the first few years Backporch was able to make some great connections with small farms, mainly in Latin America. This has opened the door for coffee to be purchased very directly, to ensure the farms and farmers the best absolute wage for their product. We are very pleased to continue to support these farms and people that work so incredibly hard to bring us their product.
Now in its 6th year, Backporch Coffee Roasters has grown at a great rate. Slowly Backporch Coffee began to be sold around town at various, high quality shops and restaurants. It is now even being shipped around the globe to Backporch fans via this website! In fall of 2010 Backporch moved into its second location and took along the roaster to enable a bit more room at the Newport location and to give Dave more room to roast. The Brightwood Mill is Backporch's extended location which has given us ample room to roast and store our various coffees. The mill is a renovated old mill with lots of character and is a good spot to steal away for a cup of coffee.
